Nicknamed the «Portuguese Beckenbauer», Humberto Coelho was born in Porto but became a Benfica fan after watching the European finals of the 1960s. A central defender with an imperial heading game, he scored 80 goals — an unusual number for the position — in 510 games, and was a historic captain of the club. Years later, as Portugal's national team coach, he led the Portuguese team to the semifinals in Euro 2000.
